Behind the Scenes- Haitian Metal Art

Walking down the streets of Croix-des-Bouquets, it is not uncommon to hear the sounds of pounding of metal coming out of homes and workshops and this comes to no surprise as it is known worldwide for its metal artwork. Handmade using a hammer and chisel, the artists expertly shape sheets of steel coming from used 55 gallon oil drums into beautifully crafted, unique works of art.
