National Nurses Day
What would we do without nurses? Now, more than ever, we have seen firsthand how nurses play such an important and vital part to our healthcare system. I always think about them as the “moms” of healthcare. You know the ones who care for you when your sick, the ones who show you compassion and care, the one that gives you the medicine that makes you feel better, basically the ones that are juggling a million things all at once, but do it so greatly and with such ease! There’s no one like a mom to care for you when you’re sick. And same goes in our healthcare system: there’s no one better to care for you than nurses! That is why it comes to no surprise that we have whole week dedicated to showing appreciation to our nurses!
So, when is it? Well, National Nurses Day is May 6th which is the first day of National Nurses Week which goes through May 12th, with May 12th being International Nurses Day. All around the United States banquets, seminars, lunches are held in honor of our hard-working nurses. Friends, family, and patients also like to show their appreciation gifting gifts or flowers to their favorite nurse! (We may be biased, but we do think this beautiful, eco-friendly, Fair Trade Medical Staff is the perfect gift! Get it here!) Just remember, whether its National Nurses Day or not, make sure to always show appreciation for our hard-working healthcare heros!
