In some retellings, Anima Sola was one of the two women who brought water to people who were crucified in Jesus Time. As Jesus was dying, this duty fell on her. She offered a drink to the two thieves, but did not give one to Jesus himself out of fear. It is said that she was condemned to solitude in purgatory for this.
