Otavalan women are dressed in white blouses, blue skirts and shawls. Jewelry is also an important addition to the Otavalena's outfit- layers of necklaces of predominantly gold beads, and red coral bracelets are the most common form of jewelry worn by the Otavalo women.
Dolls play a very important role in the culture of people. Just about every tribe from every region of the world has created their own dolls, and each are made with different materials, and all have their own special meanings.
This traditional style puppet is hand made in Otavalo Ecuador. The hand painted face is paper mache, hand cut wool clothing and beadwork is as you would see walking the streets of Ecuador.
