Armando Buitron Rojas was born in 1964 in Otavalo Imbabura, Ecuador and always had an interest in arts. Buitron studied in El Instituo de Artes Plasticas Daniel Reyes and in the Universidad Tecnica del Norte. Both his ceramic sculptures and acrylic paintings showcase the everyday life and customs of the "campesino" or countryman. Buitron's work is labeled as NAIF or Naive art, a style of art that is characterized by simplicity, frankness. It may appear simple and childlike, with bold colors, strong patterns, and rich details. And this comes as no surpise, as with each of his beautiful paintings, one feels the childlike quality, the happiness, the color and the magic of his homeland: San Antonio de Ibarra, Ecuador. This painting is an original acrylic oil on cotton fibre paper and was purchased in the mid 90's. It has been carefully stored in our warehouse and ready for a new home!
