Dream Catcher, Mayan Designs, Purple and Gold
Handmade Mayan Traditional Dream Catcher, Purple & Gold Dream Catcher, Authentic Folk Art
This beaded Dream catcher was created by a master bead artist in Santiago la Laguna, Guatemala, a village of mostly Mayan indigenous people along the shore of Lake Atitlan. Beading has made a tremendous difference in the lives of many indigenous Guatemalans.
Dream Catchers are hung above the beds of sleeping children to protect them from bad dreams and evil spirits. It is believed that the web design of the dream catcher would allow good dreams to pass through and float down the hanging beads and feathers to sleeping children.
